Lights of Aurora Suite

Have you ever seen the Northern Lights? I've been fortunate too see them twice. First time was 1993 in Ely, Minnesota. My brother attended Vermillion Community College in Ely. Marc played Baseball for the college. My family and I went to visit him and watch his game. In pure Minnesota fashion his game was "snowed out". That night Marc and I walked to his neighbors, and there in all of its Glory the sky was dancing with color!! It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Marc and I stood there for the longest time. We were both in Awe and I will never forget it.

So when I saw Lights Of Aurora Suite in September-December 2025 Mini Catalog, I knew I had to have it. It's a beautiful Suite, perfect for cards and scrapbooking.

The rest of this week, I will be sharing cards I made with this Suite on my Facebook page.

Spooky Sweet Haunted House with a Surprise 💡

This card was so much fun to make. I used the tearing technique for the hill that the Haunted Mansion sits on. I used a piece of the Iridescent Treat Bags on the back of the Haunted Mansion for the windows.

And here's the surprise...it lights up when you push the Pumpkins and Crow on the lower right of the card.  I purchased the light mechanism on Amazon. Here's the link https://www.amazon.com/Lights-Making-Light-Up-Self-Adhesive-Scrapbooking/dp/B0CPYS9L32
The kit I purchased also came with foam strips that I used on the DSP panel to give space for the light and button. The lights are self adhesive, which is great. I adhered it to the card base and then added the DSP panel. I hand wrote on the Pumpkin Crow die cut, Push Here If You Dare!

Fright Night & Spooky Sweet

The Fright Night Bundle goes great with Spooky Sweet Suite.
I love when a die set has words with it and even better when it has a tag.

The above picture shows the Fright Night Bundle

For this card I stamped two tags. One on Granny Apple Green Cardstock and one on Berry Burst Cardstock. I fussy cut three of the words and popped them up on the Granny Apple Green tag.

This card has three tags. One stamped on Basic Black Cardstock, One stamped on Berry Burst, and one die cut from DSP.

Spooky Sweet Ballerina Flamingo

Stampin' Up! did a Awesome job with the DSP from this Suite. It has so many possibilities. I cut a sidewalk front, and fussy cut a Flamingo, Piggy, and Crow from the DSP.

The cardbase and card front are Pretty In Pink. I wanted a lighter shade of pink so the Petunia Pop and Melon Mambo would stand out. The sentiment is from a stamp from Fright Night. I heat embossed with white powder on Melon Mambo and fussy cut the words I wanted.

The inside sentiments were stamped with Petunia Pop and Granny Apple Green. The sparkles were stamped with Gorgeous Grape. I used a scrap of DSP for the bottom.

The DSP from Spooky Sweet Suite does all the work for this card and the Witch Kitty from the Suite is the perfect Trick-or-Treater for it.

Spooky Sweet Fright Night

The picture above is from Creative Connections, a event hosted by Stamp Share for Leaders, a group of Silver level and above Stampin' Up Demonstrators from Minnesota. I joined the group two years ago. This is the second time I volunteered to bring a Halloween display board. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so making a Halloween themed display was So Much FUN for me.

This week I will be sharing Halloween cards and projects made with Spooky Sweet Suite and Fright Night bundle from my display.

Here are a few more pictures from Creative Connections 2025

Melissa & Kim Faust
Melissa is my Upline and Kim is my Downline.
I love these two ladies so much!!

Sue is Melissa's Upline

This is Melissa's display. Melissa was also a presenter at the event. She presented the Spooky Halloween Suite. She knocked it out the park. Her display and presentation were out of this world!!

Ok on to the cards 😁 Let's start with the Sweet Mummy Hippo. Included in the DSP from Spooky Sweet Suite, is a sheet of Empherma. That's where this absolutely adorable Mummy Hippo comes from.

It's hard to tell, but if you look close I added a wobbler to the Hippo.

The tags on the card front are from Fright Night Dies.

Fluffy Squirrel Double Pocket Gift Card Holder

Here's a fun Saturday project for you. I learned how to make it from a fellow team member, Ann Parks. I belong to a wonderful Stamping Team, The Inkredible Crafters. At the last meeting Ann showed us how to make this super fun card. Her inspiration came from Canadian Demonstrator, Rose Coleman.

Project Layers:
5 1/2 x 4 1/4 cardbase
12 x 5 1/4" DSP (horizontal orientation to start; will end up vertical after folding)
3 5/8 x 4 1/4 Basic White cardstock (for message)
3 1/8 x 4 1/4 Coordinating cardstock (for gift card or second message)
1 x 4 1/4 Coordinating DSP (for message panel)

12 X 5 1/4 DSP score @ 1 7/8, 4 3/4, and 8
Fold starting on the left: Valley, Mountain, Valley

Add adhesive on the left (the first "flap")
(See above Picture)

Fold over and adhere.
(See above Picture)

Add adhesive just on the top and bottom of the middle panel
(See above Picture)

This is what your panel will look like after you adhere together
 (See above Picture)

Turn over and add adhesive to just the right top and bottom
 (See above Picture)

What it will look like after you adhere together.

Left Pocket

Right Pocket

With gift card holder and greeting
 (See above Picture)

Gift Card holder in the left pocket, and message/greeting in the right pocket
 (See above Picture)
I used the slot punch from the Hole Punch Assortment, on the gift card holder panel, to add ribbon for the recipient to know to pull it out.
I used Stylish Shape Dies to cut 2 circles. I adhered them to the message panel for the pull out.

I hope you have a great Saturday, and a wonderful weekend.

Happy Stamping,
Alicia 💗

Fluffy Squirrel Day 5

Go Nuts it's your Birthday!! This card was fun to make!!! I wanted the Squirrels to look like they were in a tree. The Birthday gifts are acorns and presents...I wonder what is in the wrapped presents LOL!!

This card starts with a Crumb Cake cardbase. Next I used a panel of DSP and used Stylish Shapes Dies for the holes in the tree 😉 For the hole backgrounds I used the B side of the dsp circles.

I layered the sentiment label over a Old Olive Linen Thread bow, and a strip of Cajun Craze Cardstock.

I stamped two Squirrels, acorns, and presents on Basic White Cardstock. The Squirrels and acorns were punched put with the coordinating punch. The presents are fussy cut.

I hope you enjoyed my week of Fluffy Squirrels as much as I did!

Fluffy Squirrel Day 4-Just A Note

Just A Note is by far one of my favorite sentiments to stamp with.

Just A Note to say....fill in the blank. It is such a great sentiment for a card. You can leave the inside blank, or make it thinking of you, or thank you. So many possibilities.

Today's card is a simple layout, but still packs a punch. It starts with a Early Espresso cardbase. I added a Basic Beige panel with a strip of Autumn Toile DSP to the card front. I stamped four acorns on the Basic Beige panel and colored them with blends. The focal point is DSP cut with Nested Essentials Dies. Using this DSP (Basic Beige with a hint of white) for the focal point instead of cardstock made it stand out and not get lost on the card. The squirrel was adhered with dimensionals. I tucked the Cajun Craze cardstock die cut under the squirrel a tad and over a bow made with Early Espresso Linen Thread. I finished it off with Cajun Craze Dots.

Wacky Wednesday Day 3 Fluffy Squirrel series

Wacky Wednesday Day 3 Fluffy Squirrel series. How about a pink squirrel? Why not it is Wacky Wednesday after all! This is a super fun Birthday card!
Strawberry Slush is a Awesome shade of pink, it's one of the 2025-2027 In Colors. I used it for my card base, Squirrel and the gifts. I Love Black and Pink together, Botanical Texture is the perfect DSP for this card. Not only is it black and white (perfect with Strawberry Slush), it also is a leaf pattern, perfect with the Fluffy Squirrels Bundle.

The sentiment I used from the stamp set is all in one, Go Nuts it's your Birthday. I wanted part for the front of the card and part for the inside of the card. I split it up by masking the sentiment (a technique where you use a temporary covering, like a Post-it note or Stampin' Up! masking paper, to cover a portion of a stamp with a sentiment on it.)

More information for this card can be found on my website

Happy Stamping,
Alicia
